In an exciting new chapter for two of Western Australia's premier sports and recreation venues, HBF Arena and HBF Stadium will undergo name changes effective from 1 January 2025.
Earlier this year, it was announced that HBF’s longstanding sponsorship of these venues would end when their contract expired, with HBF and VenuesWest continuing their relationship through naming rights at HBF Park.
From the new year, HBF Arena will revert to its original name, Arena Joondalup, while HBF Stadium in Mount Claremont will be rebranded as the Perth HPC (Perth High Performance Centre).
VenuesWest CEO David Etherton said the organisation looked forward to continuing to welcome millions of customers every year into these venues which are both hubs for high quality sport and entertainment experiences in the state.
“The renaming of these venues marks an exciting new chapter for two of VenuesWest’s flagship venues,” Etherton said.
“Arena Joondalup has long been an important venue for sport and entertainment for the people in Perth’s northern suburbs and beyond. This summer will also see the venue host two of Perth’s Premier Music festivals.
“The renaming of HBF Stadium in Mount Claremont to the Perth HPC (Perth High Performance Centre) reflects our vision and purpose to support high-performance sport in Western Australia.
“The Perth HPC, as it will soon be known, has supported a long list of Olympic and Paralympic athletes in their quest to represent Australia, including 2024 Olympic medallists Iona Anderson and Josh Yong, who currently train at the venue as part of the WAIS athlete program.
“We thank HBF for the strong partnership with these venues over the past 10 years and look forward to continuing this relationship at HBF Park. The next few years promise to be very exciting for HBF Park and we look forward to working with HBF over this time.
“We also extend our thanks to our stakeholders, members, and customers for their ongoing support as we continue to deliver world class sport and entertainment experiences in Western Australia.”
