NRL blockbusters return to Perth in 2025!

Perth will host a suite of NRL blockbusters in 2025, with three games coming to WA in addition to Game II of the State of Origin.

The National Rugby League has released their schedule for the 2025 Premiership season today, revealing a Double Header of Premiership action at Optus Stadium on Saturday, 12 April and the return of the Dolphins to HBF Park on 21 June.

The NRL doubleheader returns to Optus Stadium on 12 April. The Cronulla Sharks, last year’s Preliminary Finalists, meet the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in the opening match. The Sharks are no strangers to Perth, having beaten the Rabbitohs here in 2023.

The Premiership’s most successful team ever, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, headline the second match when they run out against the North Queensland Cowboys.

Last year’s Double Header was a resounding success, attracting the third biggest NRL premiership crowd of the season when 45,814 fans flocked to Optus Stadium to see the Knights defeat the Dolphins and the Sharks defeat the Rabbitohs.

The timing of the matches coincides with Gather Round in the AFL so rugby league will enjoy an exclusive weekend on Perth’s biggest stage.

After a sellout Dolphins v Roosters clash in 2024, HBF Park will host the Dolphins again in 2025, taking on the Newcastle Knights.

The Dolphins v Roosters game attracted a record-breaking crowd of 20,027, the largest since HBF Park became a rectangular venue.

Tickets for the two events go on sale to the general public on Tuesday 3 December.

The excitement around NRL in WA continues to grow in anticipation of Game II of the State of Origin, which goes on sale on sale on Friday 22 November.

It will be the third State of Origin clash held at Optus Stadium, with another confirmed for 2028.
