VenuesWest to significantly boost security at Perth Motorplex

Following a stringent review of current security measures after an incident on Saturday 12 December, VenuesWest on behalf of the State Government has determined all private bookings and bookings of under 100 people at Perth Motorplex may now resume.

A significantly increased security presence will be in place, assuming a checking and supervision role for upcoming events at the Kwinana venue.

The venue had security checks in place on Saturday night and measures are not believed to have been breached. Instead it is understood that the perpetrator breached the perimeter by non-conventional means.

As is usual practice, with last Saturday’s event, an event risk management plan was in place and security undertook standard access control and entry checks.

The decision to resume events of more than 100 people will be made pending the provision of further information and advice from WA Police expected sometime this week.

The matter is now the subject of investigation by the WA Police and anyone with any information or footage should be directed to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestopperswa.com.au.

The safety of our patrons is our number one priority and as such we continue to liaise with the WA Police.
